Martin Hubbard

Founder and Managing Director

Martin is the founder of CoreGroup and the innovator behind the Core Process and Core Map.  He is committed to developing and applying scientific methods to enhance human performance with a primary focus on thought development and emotional awareness while creating winning strategies.

Over a career spanning twenty-five years, Martin has successfully led organizations to drive change.  He has consulted with thousands of individuals and devoted more than 20,000 hours to guiding leaders.

He is also a professional speaker, author, and facilitator that works extensively with CEOs and other business leaders to enhance their professional effectiveness and create tangible and sustainable results within their organizations.

His quest for answers led him to create the Five Core Principles outlined in his book, “Reversing the Senses”, a well-regarded book in the field of understanding human consciousness.  Today, he lives by those principles and teaches them to other high achievers and leaders, helping others avoid the pitfalls that success often brings.

As a former CEO with experience in healthcare and other service-related industries, Martin brings significant leadership skills helping individuals and organizations move to a higher level of achievement.

Martin received his bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Redlands.  He earned a master’s degree in Psychology from California Graduate Institute.  Currently, he is an active participant in Young Presidents/World Presidents Organization, the global leadership community of more than 30,000 chief executives in 142 countries.  He also is an active member of the Social Enterprise Network that is committed to corporate social responsibility in the world community.

Philip K. Anthony, PhD

Managing Partner

Dr. Anthony has built, developed, and led a number of companies over a career spanning nearly forty years. Dr. Anthony most recently served as CEO and founding partner of DecisionQuest, a nationwide consulting enterprise. Dr. Anthony led and dramatically grew DecisionQuest to become one of the nation’s premier and most well-respected consulting practices.

Dr. Anthony earned his Ph.D. in communication sciences, psychology, and business from the University of Southern California. Dr. Anthony is the author of numerous books and articles on the topic of human decision-making thoughts and processes. He has appeared in media and on networks such as CNN, MSNBC, ABC, NBC, Fox News, PBS, The Wall Street Journal, Forbes magazine, The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, The Miami Herald, and USA Today. Dr. Anthony is a frequent lecturer for a variety of professional organizations and universities. Dr. Anthony is believed by many to be a pre-eminent expert in his field, having worked on more than two thousand client matters in all fifty states as well in parts of Western Europe, the United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia.

Dr. Anthony was recognized by the National Law Journal to be one of the fifty pioneers in the legal and dispute resolution field over the past fifty years.

Dr. Anthony has served as Chair of the board of directors of the Make A Wish Foundation of Los Angeles, as well as on a variety of charitable and private industry boards. Dr. Anthony is past Chair of the board of both YPO Southern California and World President Organization Southern California. Dr. Anthony was a founding advisory board member of the University of California Irvine school of law. Dr. Anthony currently serves on various boards, including as chair of the UCI Health business advisory board, the USC Associates Board of directors, and as an ex officio Trustee of the University of California Irvine foundation.

Mark Spears

Consultant

Mark is a seasoned consultant at The Core Group, recognized for his collaborative and results-driven approach. With over seven years of experience applying The Core Group’s principles, he has successfully guided leadership teams in identifying and fostering high-performance behaviors. Mark’s expertise includes diagnosing key qualities that contribute to business and personal success, making him a trusted advisor to executives, directors, and business owners alike.

In addition to his consulting work, Mark has extensive experience facilitating men’s retreats, weekends, and personal development programs, where he focuses on emotional mastery, relational skills, and holistic well-being. His deep understanding of men’s work has allowed him to create powerful environments for personal growth, helping individuals connect more authentically and build meaningful relationships.

Before his consulting career, Mark served as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army for three years, where he played a critical role in preparing soldiers for deployment, ensuring both their physical and mental readiness. He was deployed to Afghanistan and received several commendations for his service, including the Joint Service Commendation Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, and the National Service Medal.

Mark’s certifications reflect his commitment to personal and organizational development. He is a certified Life Coach, with additional certifications in Emotional Intelligence (EQi-2.0), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), and Mindful Awareness from UCLA. Over the past 12 years, Mark has also been a certified personal trainer, leveraging his knowledge to improve physical, mental, and emotional wellness for his clients. As a meditation facilitator, he brings a unique blend of mindfulness and emotional intelligence to his coaching practice, offering comprehensive growth experiences for individuals and teams.

Noelle Hubbard

Associate

Noelle is an associate at The Core Group and well-versed in creating presentations and program designs.  She creates meaningful and transformational partnerships with clients to address critical executive leadership and team development agendas to advance their respective organizations and strategic imperatives.  Her foundational background and education in psychology enable her to go a step beyond traditional consulting work to help clients make critical decisions.

Noelle brings a strategic, big-picture approach to her work, while always maintaining an “on the ground” perspective for what it truly takes to get challenging work done effectively and efficiently.  Her ability to see and connect the dots cross-functionally within the organization helps our clients deliver continuity across their initiatives unlocking new potential across the organization.

Prior to joining The Core Group, Noelle served in several communications roles where she worked closely with directors and leaders.  She is adept at working side by side with senior leadership, leading and facilitating sessions to help organizations align on a shared vision.

Noelle holds a Bachelor of Psychology degree from Chapman University.

Sophie Payne

Research Analyst

Sophie has been trained in Psychology and is a highly dedicated Research Analyst.  She is skilled in both qualitative and quantitative research methods as well as SPSS statistical-based analysis.  Her ability to understand the client’s research needs positions her as a trusted partner for our clients.

Sophie holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology with minors in Cognitive Science and Sociology from Oberlin College.
